About the
project
EDU-DC – EDUcation for Dual Careers of football talents is an Erasmus+ project that empowers young football players aged 16–21 to pursue both their sport and their education. Running from November 2024 to April 2027, the project is coordinated by the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) and brings together European football federations, universities, and multisport organisations.
EDU-DC strengthens the support structures within clubs and academies so that players can thrive both on and off the pitch. By developing training programmes, mapping current systems, and creating new learning tools, the project ensures that every young player can follow a sustainable dual-career path – towards success in football and beyond.
