Bulgarian clubs join discussions on education, football and the future of young players
The EDU-DC – EDUcation for Dual Careers of football talents project recently held an intermediate meeting in Sofia, hosted by the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU). Over three days, project partners, federation representatives and youth football clubs came together to discuss the next steps in supporting players who combine football with education.
The first day focused on the development of the educational modules for Dual Career Coordinators. Project partners reviewed the content together with club representatives, discussing how the modules can best work within the project’s future online learning platform.
Day two was dedicated to internal coordination within the project consortium, including discussions about communication activities and the development of the EDU-DC ambassador network.
The final day brought together Bulgarian youth football clubs for an interactive learning session. Partners introduced the EDU-DC project, explored the concept of holistic talent development, and shared examples of good practice from across Europe. The session concluded with a panel discussion between project representatives and Bulgarian football stakeholders.
Several clubs joined the meeting online, allowing a wider group of organisations to take part in the discussion.
The meeting created a strong starting point for the implementation of the EDU-DC educational programme in Bulgaria, while opening valuable conversations with a diverse group of clubs involved in youth football development.
